Worlds of Fun is a theme park located in Clay County, Missouri. It opened in 1973. It was the brainchild of Lamar Hunt, who moved the Dallas Texans from Texas to Kansas City, Missouri. Hunt renamed the team the Kansas City Chiefs and founded Mid-America Enterprises, a company focused on real estate, mining and entertainment. Hunt conceptualized Worlds of Fun with Jack Steadman. The park opened to the public on May 26, 1973.
Oceans of Fun
Oceans of Fun is a tropically themed water park. It opened on May 31, 1982 in Kansas City, Missouri, as a way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the nearby Worlds of Fun amusement park. At the time of its opening, Oceans of Fun was the largest water park in the world. The Cedar Fair company owns and operates the park.
The incident is under investigation, but the cause of the death is not yet known. A young girl was discovered unconscious in the Coconut Cove pool at Oceans of Fun in Kansas City.
